Three Calls

It’s easy, just like all those in-class presentations. You know that you can talk much more freely than your classmates.

Don’t talk too fast, dammit. Word by word.

Ten minutes of calling, and ten minutes of cringing and worrying about getting rejected for stupidity, and ten minutes of laughing at myself for being so afraid and continuing cringing.

My hands are still shaking, ever so slightly.

Remember, if anything goes wrong, it’s society’s fault for not teaching me how to call big organizations with operators and extensions and all that.

They should teach that in school, shouldn’t they?
