Technological Fails

Strange things:

  • Have you ever noticed that most people are now getting GMail exclusively for chat? Yeah, oxymironic. No typo.
  • Ehhhrrrmmm… people who tell me *NOT* to comment in my programs. Ehhhrrrmmm… literate programming, anybody? Unless you’re using Inform 7 or have a USB port wired into your arm, you are never going to be able to parse your program five years from now.
  • Big-O notations seems easy, but isn’t.
  • GMail has… *stars*, you know. And *labels*, as well. *Hello*?
  • Why am I doing this?
  • I must collect a lot of the nerdiest pictures possible for my computer homework. Fail.
  • People who program programs that look like ASCII art. Unconsciously.
  • People who can’t spell Google.
  • “Why did you name your meat product after junk mail?
  • Okaaaay. Did you know there’s a thing called typedef in C++?

I think I left the topic somewhere. Whaaaaaaaat?

Note: I just realized, because of some strange comments that I didn’t actually post, that about 0.5 people read this blog. Excluding me.

By the way, I think I might get some money for Freedom Writers! And I can touch-type! Yaaaay!

I can’t or shouldn’t tell you which story or stories are mine. (2013/03/28: This link now 301s to a dead .co.cc site. I investigate the situation with these domains in 2012. I now find all posts this old to be as cringeworthy as can be, but I’m not changing anything, except for the linebreaks which were messed up by the migration. My blogging voice has changed dramatically over these four years, but my position on link text hasn’t budged; keep reading:)

Oh, and one more: people who put links saying, “click here” or “here”. Instead of “Click _here_ for some 123abc’s”, just say “_some 123abc’s_”. Trust me, the public will forgive you for using a fragment for a link. Have you ever used Lynx? Try it. Tell all here-users to go here. Or, if you’re totally strict about grammar, just use “_some 123abc’s_ is good” or “_some 123abc’s_ sponsors me” or “this site rocks because _some 123abc’s_ rocks too.”

Waiiit.
