V is for Victory

7095. Yep, that’s the score I got… tell you about that later. In sequence, as always…

Flag Ceremony, approx 7:45

“For the third week, the third place goes to XX… the second place goes to XX, and the first place goes to…… 4B!”
Yes, I will never ever ever forget those words. On the other hand, maybe I will, but that’s not important. Firstplacefirstplacefirstplacethatssounbelievable!!! The first time ever it was. Back in 3rd grade I was happy because we got to enter the contest, but we only got third place if we got anything at all. And on only the third week! Whoa!

Humanities Class, approx 1:13

Yahoo! We got to the Computer Lab and wore our brains, fingers, hands, and sweat-generating organs out. COINCIDE, VIRGINIA, SWEARING, ASSESSED, ETCETERA… (hahaha) Eight letter words appearing. You had to find words inside the bigger words, but of course you could try to get the 8Letter word. Really hard the way it is.
3 letters — 5 points
4 letters — 10 points
5 letters — 20 points
6 letters — 30 points
7 letters — 50 points
8 letters — 80 points
And on and on. Like in COINCIDE… COIN, DICE, NICE, DINE, DEN, DON, CON, you get it. Really fun. And Mr. C played along. He projected his screen up there and we played. 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000, 6000, 7000!!! I scored 7098. Mr. C scored 4XXX. Well, for sure I beat him. The prize was Freebies on Friday! Yogga yogga hip hip hooray! “Yogga”, by the way, is a scrap of nonsense that means… well, sort of similar to an explanation… no, exclamation mark.

Then it was Music time. We played the recorder and I played “The Old Carrion Crow” close to close to close to close to perfect. Almost. So I earned a crayon pencil. The kind that has all kinds of colors, and when you want a new color you pull out the point and stick it into the bottom of the pencil. Then the new color shifts out of the pencil. Then we had Science and then we went home. The end.
